Sistas United Talk Show with When God Says Wait

When God Says Wait!

Waiting is one of the hardest disciplines in the Christian walk. We are women of action, women of faith, and women who know how to get things done. But every now and then, God places us in a season where the door doesn’t swing open, the breakthrough doesn’t rush in, and the answer doesn’t show up on our timeline.

And in that still, uncomfortable space, we hear Him whisper: “Wait.”

The Weight of the Wait

Let’s be honest—waiting can feel heavy. It can feel like delay, rejection, or even punishment. It can feel like an uncomfortable pause in the story of our lives, especially when we’ve prayed, fasted, prepared, and positioned ourselves.

But in God’s kingdom, waiting is not wasted time.

It is sacred ground.

Waiting is where God strengthens our faith, sharpens our discernment, and develops our character. It’s where He clears out distractions, exposes motives, and aligns our hearts with His will rather than our own. The wait is often the womb where miracles are formed—quiet, unseen, but undeniably real.

Why God Makes Us Wait

God says “wait” for many reasons, but here are a few we often overlook:

1. The Blessing Needs Preparation

Sometimes the delay isn’t about you—it’s about what you’re praying for.

The opportunity may not be fully ready. The person you’re hoping to meet may still be growing. The blessing may still be under construction.

2. You Need Preparation

God doesn’t just bless us—He equips us.

If He gave us certain things too soon, the weight of the blessing could crush us instead of lift us. Waiting increases capacity, endurance, and wisdom.

3. Protection

Sometimes God uses waiting to shield us from doors that look good but would damage us. Sometimes that pause is divine protection dressed as disappointment.

4. The Right Timing Brings Glory

God’s timing always elevates His name.

When the answer comes in a way that only He could orchestrate, your testimony becomes fuel for someone else’s faith.

What to Do While You Wait

Waiting doesn’t mean doing nothing. Here’s how to stay spiritually grounded and emotionally strong in your waiting season:

✔ Stay Prayerful

Keep communication open. You may not see movement, but your prayers are working underground.

✔ Stay Teachable

Ask God, “What are You developing in me during this season?”

He never wastes an experience.

✔ Stay Ready

Prepare like the answer could come tomorrow. God often moves when we least expect it but when we’re most prepared.

✔ Stay Trusting

God has never failed you. This will not be the first time.

The Beauty on the Other Side

When God finally says “Go,” “Now,” or “Yes,” you’ll understand why He first said “Wait.”

You’ll realize He was not holding you back—He was holding you together.

Your testimony will be fuller.

Your faith will be stronger.

And your destiny will be clearer.

So, sis, if you’re in a waiting season right now, lift your head.

This is not the end—it’s the in-between.

And God is working, even when life feels still.

Trust the process. Trust His heart. Trust His timing.

When God says wait, it’s because He’s preparing something worth waiting for.

Zechariah 4:4-6
4 So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these, my lord?”
5 Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, “Do you not know what these are?”
And I said, “No, my lord.”
6 So he answered and said to me:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.

Zechariah 4: Primarily focuses on the vision of a golden lampstand (menorah) with two olive trees, symbolizing God's provision and empowerment for the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. The key message is that God's work is accomplished not by human might or power, but by His Spirit. The olive trees represent a continuous supply of oil, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, which is essential for the lampstand (the temple and its ministry) to function and shine.
